With it still being fairly early in the season, my weather app is reporting a mixed bag for Barcelona this week. We’re landing into the city for a day first before heading to the beach, and with only a backpack-size cabin bag, the changeable weather means it’s a tricky business. I’m hoping I’ve covered all bases (in the most condensed way possible) - last week’s post listed all the clothes that I’m taking and this week I’m going into accessories.
See first some inspiration for a city break outfit: flowy layers (linen-blend shirts are great for this) with either the option of shorts and add a jumper, or if slightly more chilly, trousers and a vest top underneath said shirt.
Accessories should never be underestimated when space is limited - they become the difference between wearing and styling an outfit.
**I’ve starred the items that I’ll be wearing to save space. At this point I will be looking like Joey from Friends (IYKYK).
Bags: This Filson bag has long been my travel companion, it definitely is a stretch on what is classified as an “under seat bag” but it can do it, and if it’s on your shoulder, *touch wood*, I don’t get asked about it. Must have is a small shoulder bag for passport, purse etc. this one from H&M would squash nicely. If room, I would also like to bring a tote bag for beach, supermarkets run etc.
Shoes: I’m loving my boat shoes from M&S, they are so comfortable and I’m hoping can handle a walking day around the city. These from Free People have gotten a lot of hype too. Also my black Havaianas are a must.
Hats: Is extra to take 2? Possibly. I have this crochet one from Uniqlo which can elevate an otherwise simple look. For a cap, I love this one from Soeur.
Beauty: Davines OI milk and paddle brush are must-haves to tame any frizz, this Caudalie SPF stick balm won’t have to be included in the liquids pouch, then some low key make up - just glow cream on my face from Erborian, flush balm in Beverley Hills by Merit, and for the evenings lipstick in Helene by Rouje. Nothing else touches my eyebrows except Refy. My sister gave me this perfume by Bastille and I’ve been addicted ever since - it smells like summer. To keep it all together, I have many Elizabeth Scarlett pouches - they are perfect and double up as on evening bag.
Final touches: a beaded necklace, my go-to hoops from Missoma, a brown leather belt, these sunglasses from &Other Stories and a good book. Not featured - the podcasts I will be consuming on the flights!
Have a good week!
