Everything feels better with a tan (bottled or sun), and so a girl can start dreaming.
My brain immediately looks for pastels, floaty dresses, messy hair and bare feet as soon as the weather turns nice. I 100% aspire to be the woman in the middle image below - if anyone knows where that incredible top is from, please let me know!
Whether it’s pottering around my local area, or the European city/beach breaks, I want to feel comfortable but still look like I’ve made an effort. This means forgiving fabrics and nothing too tight - and banging accessories.
These are some of the things that tick that summer moodboard box:
I love that pink towelling set in the moodboard - comfortable and cool. These yellow shorts are from Mango, but you can also go for this amazing full set from Hush - love, love, love.
Salomons are everywhere, even Net-A-Porter has bought these trail-running shoes for goodness sake. From a very practical point of view, these will keep you going on every kind of trip this summer. I’m still trying to decide if I’m cool enough to pull these off, but I want to be.
Summer shorts that lengthen your legs? Yes please. Would need to see how see-through these to see if these could be worn anywhere but the beach, but they’re very cute.
Danish twins Amalie and Cecilie Moosgaard (top right in the moodboard) do everything well. Their brand Lié Studio began as jewellery but has now expanded into leather accessories too. The Mary necklace would liven up any plain outfit.
Smaller frames are having a moment, and I have been trying to find the right oval-shaped sunglasses for a while. These from & Other Stories are perfect - the tortoise-shell colour makes me feel much less like Neo than a black pair would.
This hat recently came home with me, from Uniqlo, it will be great this summer if you’re not a cap person/outfit isn’t sporty. The soft and smaller rim means I can lean back and can read my book easily!
I must have this set from Faithfull The Brand, I actually can’t think of a situation this summer it wouldn’t work for. Wedding guest, to an evening dinner outfit (holiday or not) - this looks so flattering. It also has an elastic back which means it could work for a variety of chest sizes.
More city than beach, because when it gets too hot who wants to wear denim? These from & Other Stories have a lovely fit and length, I would even wear these into the office.
These Zara pumps are alluding me, so I expect they are long sold out, but I love them. I found a similar version from M&S which I’m now considering.
Maybe the best until last - my hair needs frizz control even in winter. Come summer, I can easily look like Monica Geller (IYKYK). I have many a product for smoothing but I cannot rate this from Davines highly enough.
Hoping the sun stays around for May and onwards now. Thank you for reading, and have a good week!
